Neck pain can be due to injury, stress, a mechanical or muscular problem, irregular postures, a trapped nerve in the discs between the vertebrae, or from arthritis, Spondylosis of the neck. If it is due to significant muscle spasm or a slipped disk it will cause a feeling of numbness, tingling, or weakness.
The pain generally radiates down to the shoulder into the arms, the hand, or up into the head, causing headaches. The muscles in the neck are tense, sore and are generally accompanied by a feeling of weakness in the shoulders and arms.
